Great Wolf Lodge opening “busy”.
Great Wolf Lodge opened its doors in Grand Mound last week to more guests than its management initially expected, said John Poole, director of sales and marketing for the family resort.
‘It”s been a lot busier than we expected,’ Poole said. ‘We”re just thrilled. Call volume is high. It”s pretty amazing in terms of the activity in the water park.’ The 39-acre resort cost more than $100 million to build. Features include 398 guest rooms and a 60,000-square-foot indoor waterpark made possible by 340,000 gallons of heated water. Though Poole wouldn”t share how many rooms were booked in the resort”s first week of business, he did say the resort”s popularity is expected to continue through the summer season. ‘It”s exceeded our expectations,’ Poole said. ‘We”re hoping the trend continues.’
